Our 2018 barebow champions are…

More than 240 archers gathered at seven centres across the UK for the British Barebow Indoor Championships - and the winners have now been announced!

This year's senior champions are Sarah Monteith, a member of Archers of East Riding, and four-times medallist James Annall of Bath Archers. Our junior champions are Phoebe Rose of Mere Archers and Jack Oram of Deer Park Archers.

Sarah beat her closest rival, Carol-Anne Seez of Penicuik Archers, by 25 points. Third place went to Allison Kelly of Riverside Archers. Seventeen points separated James from second-placed Alex Newnes of Aberystwyth University and Mere Archers' Mel Rawlings was third.

Two points gave Jack the junior title over Callum Forsyth of Bannockburn Bowmen while Phoebe chalked up a seven point victory over defending champion Amelia Thomas of Pentref Bowmen. Third places went to David Lavender of Laleham Archery Club and Constance Gaunt of Phoenix Bowmen.

Sarah, James and Jack's wins ensured that England took the Home Nations title while Ballyvally Archers Banbridge won the club honours. This year's champion couple are Jane and Andrew Rees of Ballands Bowmen with a score of 967 while Central Lancashire's Amy Cole and Niall Brooks were the highest scoring university pair.
