Meet the GB teams heading to the World Youth Championships and the European Youth Cup leg two.
We are delighted to announce two very strong teams for our upcoming youth internationals: the European Youth Cup leg two in Slovenia from 28 July-2 August, and the World Youth Championships in Canada from 17-24 August. Every single member of the team is fully deserving of their chance to represent Great Britain, and they should be very proud of their achievement in being selected.
The World Youth Championships will present a formidable challenge in taking on world class competition and the very best nations in the world. Given the talent at our disposal, this is the level at which we should be regularly competing, and we are confident that the group we are sending will be competing for medals. This event will be the culmination of years of hard work for all of the selected team, featuring a wide array of experience, but nothing short of formidable ability.
The European Youth Cup leg two represents an opportunity to provide some of our most promising young archers with the chance to gain valuable experience competing internationally early in their careers, and we believe we are sending an exciting, very competitive group.
For six compound archers and eight recurve archers, the Youth Cup will be their very first international trip representing GB. Each of them has shown they are ready to be competitive at an international level and we're excited to bring this fresh energy into a group of seasoned youth competitors.

Performance Pathway Manager, Alan Bisseker, said: “I would also like to thank those archers who put their hat in the ring but narrowly missed out on selection this time around. You should also be extremely proud of your efforts. Keep working hard, engaging in the process and I have no doubt that you will get your chance.”
Compound Pathway Lead, Stuart Taylor, said: “The selected athletes have done a fantastic job throughout the selection process in proving that they have what it takes to compete internationally at the highest level.
We're very proud to see this group step up to this level and have every confidence that each and every one will do themselves proud representing GB on the most competitive stage.”
