James is from Shepperton, Surrey, but currently lives in Telford, Shropshire. He finished studying physics at Warwick University a year ago. His brother started a year before him and he thought it was an interesting sport to try after watching him.
He is proud of making his Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, finishing 33rd individually and 5th in the team event. In 2022 he became the National Indoor Champion, and finished 5th at the National Tour Final. For 2024, his ambitions are to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris and come back with a medal.
