Job Title:             National Competitions and Volunteers Coordinator  

Salary Range:     c. £28-32k

Location:            Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Shropshire for minimum of 3 days/week

Do your planning skills and ability to deliver through others make you stand out from the crowd? Join Archery GB as National Competitions and Volunteers Coordinator and you will have the opportunity to make a real impact.

As part of the Competitions Team, you will support the planning and delivery of a national programme of events utilising our skilled and dedicated volunteer workforce and community of judges.

With strong relationship building skills you will support the recruitment and development of volunteers and liaise with our Judges’ Working Group to ensure the effective resourcing of all events.

Outside of the main competition/event activity you will oversee the maintenance of National Records, ensuring rankings are updated and progress is recognised. When there are gaps in the events calendar you will be organising our virtual/online competitions.

The successful candidate will have strong planning and organisational skills, experience in managing projects and events including budget management and demonstrate good communication skills.

Flexibility is key to this role as events often take place at weekends and the role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Job Title:             Community Archery Coach Apprentice – Rimaya  

Wage:                 £224.70/ Week

Location:            Blackburn/Preston and possibly Bolton area (BB1 8AP)

Duration:            15 Months

Working Week: 30 Hours Per Week – including weekends and evenings (includes on average 6 hrs/week learning time)

Age:                   18 +

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about sports and community engagement to gain valuable experience and make a positive impact through coaching and mentorship.

The Community Archery Coach Apprentice will be working towards a Community Activator Coach L2 Apprenticeship Qualification over the course of 15 Months.

The Community Archery Coach Apprentice will be a member of Archery GB’s Sport Development Team and will work closely with the Northern Counties Regional Development Officer and Project Rimaya Partnerships in the Blackburn/Preston and possibly Bolton areas.

Accountable for activating archery coaching sessions for beginners, delivering community sessions and assisting in running Have a Go events and competitions in various settings, including archery clubs, schools, madrassah’s, holiday camps, and other community environments. Aimed at tackling inequality and leading to an increase in the number of people taking up archery across the Manchester and Lancashire area especially from ethnically diverse communities.

The role will involve assisting in the promotion, planning and delivery of coaching sessions, fostering positive relationships with participants and partners to promote the physical and mental benefits or archery.

Desired Skills: We are not looking for previous coaching qualifications or experience. However, enthusiasm for sports and a genuine interest in working with children, young people, and community members is essential.

Successful applicants will be assisting and delivering archery sessions in the community. Therefore, you will need to be reliable, enthusiastic, energetic, and committed!

Training to be delivered: Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship L2 including Functional Skills in Maths and English.
