Start Archery Week Toolkit

The Start Archery Week Toolkit offers downloadable posters, social media images and captions, and a couple of checklists to make sure your event goes smoothly.

Archery GB has created a Toolkit to help you advertise your Start Archery Week events. You can download as many or as few of the files as you like - they're there to help you run the best event you can. We're adding Welsh versions of each of the items over the next couple of weeks, so please check back.

All of these can be found in the Resources section of this page (top right), or can be downloaded by clicking the links below.

Toolkit

  1. Participant Form - All clubs should make sure that each participant (or group of) at their event fills out a copy of this form. This will allow you and us to track how many people are attending each year, and send them more information if they'd like it. They might also win a prize! There's two forms to an A4 page, so you get twice as many for your print. Make sure you have plenty at your event - you don't want to run out! Available as Word and PDF files

  2. Editable event posters - These posters, featuring two brand-new designs for 2024, are available for you to download, add your details and then print or share online. Both posters available in A3, A4 and A5 as Word and PDF files

  3. Event Preparation ChecklistA comprehensive checklist to help you plan your event, including things you might need to think about before, during and after the event. Available as a PDF file

  4. Marketing Checklist - A checklist to help you make sure you've done everything you can to publicise your event, from splashing it across social media, to putting up posters around your local area. Available as a PDF file

  5. Social media images - Ten different social media images have been created for you to download and use on your social channels to help promote Start Archery Week and your event. They can also be added to your website. Available as JPG files

  6. Suggested Social Media Captions - We've created a few different social media captions to help maximise the impact of your event - just don't forget to delete [Event details] and add your own! We'll be tracking the #StartArcheryWeek and #AimforParis hashtags throughout the summer and sharing as many as we can. Available as a PDF file

  7. Event Theme SuggestionsBecause we're theming this year's SAW, we've included a list of suggestions for the ways you could show off archery's link with good mental health, and the Paris 2024 Games at your event. There's no requirement to do, it's just a suggestion to help make your event stand out. Available as a PDF file

  8. Start Archery Week logo - a copy of the SAW logo for you to use on your website, posters and social media. Available as a PNG file

  9. Template Press Release - This template press release is for you to send to your local media - newspapers, radio stations and local TV - to inform them of your event and some case studies about archery and mental health. Make sure you personalise it with your details and, when you send it, send a couple of different high-resolution photos with it so that they have options!

  10. A Guide to Contacting Local Media - Target PR has put together some guidance about the best way to contact your local press and make your event look good to journalists.

Is there something you'd like to see that's missing? Drop us an email and let us know: magazine@archerygb.org

Shareable mental health resources

This year, Start Archery Week has two themes: mental health and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

To help you increase your mental health awareness and make your event as inclusive as possible, we’ve put together some resources from Mind – the mental health charity. These resources are suitable for clubs, activity providers, volunteers and participants. Everyone is different so have a look through the resources to find the right support for you.
