World Games And European Field Archery Championships, Team Announcements.

World Games

We are pleased to announce the team for the World Games in Poland.

At the 2016 World Championships the team won the following quota places; 1 recurve men, 2 recurve women & 1 barebow women.

The team were selected from the athletes’ best three, two day combined scores from June 2016 to the All British Field Championships May 2017.

  • Recurve Men: Mark Nesbitt
  • Recurve Women: Naomi Folkard & Bryony Pitman
  • Barebow Women: Jessica Nilsson
  • Team Managers: Tracy Hill & Gary Kinghorn.

The 2013 World Games in Cali Columbia saw GBR return with a Gold for Naomi Folkard and Bronze from Alan Wills, GB  will be looking to come home with  medals from the 2017 World Games in Wroclaw Poland from 21 July.


European Field Championships

The team has now been named for the 2017 European Field Archery Championships in Slovenia from 21 – 27 August.

After-school archery club benefits from AGB participation project

Ninestiles Academy in Birmingham is part of Archery GB’s ongoing SportsAid-funded initiative, Project Rimaya, to promote the sport across ethnically diverse communities. Funding from the project has resulted in Ninestiles qualifying a staff member to be an archery instructor, helping to introduce the sport to a new generation.
