Paras take on Europe

June 3rd 2018
Jane Percival

Eight of our top para archers are about to test themselves against the continent’s best in the first stage of the Para Archery European Cup in Sardinia.

They are:

W1: Martin Saych, Jo Frith, Victoria Rumary

Compound open: Nathan MacQueen, John Walker, Jodie Grinham

Recurve open: David Phillips, Tania Nadarajah

Paralympic Performance Manager Tom Duggan said: “The team members won their spots through the selection process and selection shoot. The team has a blend of experience with Rio medallists such as Jo Frith and John Walker through to Martin Saych who is on the Academy fast track programme and newer to the international scene.

“We are looking forward to testing ourselves against the rest of the competition at what we hope will be a competitive field and high-quality event.”

Qualification is scheduled to start on Tuesday, followed by team and individual eliminations. The team finals will be on Friday and individual medals will be awarded on Saturday.
