ontarget is Archery GB's club development programme. Archery GB recognises the commitment and vital role that clubs play in growing the sport. A strong and healthy network of clubs is essential if archery is to grow and flourish
ontarget was created to provide rewards, recognition and development. We have provided grants, support to clubs seeking funding; awards for clubs and volunteers and support for clubs seeking national awards; and assisted in the development of clubs through the ontarget specialisms, governance changes; and a whole manner of topics from how to set up coaching sessions to discussions with landlords and local authorities on planning applications.
By joining ontarget your club is making a public pledge to be open and friendly, to advance archery and to proactively work with Archery GB.
Once clubs have joined ontarget they are encouraged to work towards achieving one or more of the specialisms. You can find out more here
The specialisms have been designed to provide advice and guidance for clubs looking to improve and develop, while also recognising the good practice already taking place.
We currently have:
|Community Specialism Clubs
|Young People Specialism Clubs
|Performance Specialism Clubs
The specialisms provide a springboard to other initiatives – whether it’s going through a membership drive or looking at a funding bid to gain additional equipment or train coaches. We have lots of exciting plans over the next few years and being part of the ontarget programme and in particular a club which holds a specialism, will mean you are at the forefront of our club development work.
How to apply
It is free to join ontarget and the process could not be simpler. All you have to do is complete this online application form, please click here.
Clubs that have several sections (such as juniors, a disabled or a senior club) should apply as one “umbrella” club as long as it provides information about all the sections.
All UK archery clubs affiliated to Archery GB can join ontarget.
