Archery GB Young Ambassadors support the Birmingham Inclusive Sports Festival

Young ambassadors Joshua Smith, Cheyanne Ferreday and Maryam Manjothi all volunteered their time on Sunday 23 June to support the Birmingham Sport's Inclusive Sport Festival, a FREE fun and family-friendly sports taster day for individuals with a range of impairments.

The Birmingham Inclusive Sports Festival (BISF), delivered at the University of Birmingham brings families and carers together to raise awareness of sport, promotes health and wellbeing activities and encourages people to try something new. BISF also provides the opportunity to consult with people to better understand what support they need to make sport and physical activity a part of their lifestyle and identify ways of making local activities even more inclusive.

Gayle Pink, Archery GB's Communities and Engagement Manager said: Â"Our team of Young Ambassadors and their parents did an amazing job in providing opportunities for everyone to try archery, showcasing how truly inclusive and enjoyable our sport is.

Â"It was a delight to see our team of Young Ambassadors engaging so confidently and positively in delivering a high-quality experience of Arrows Archery to over 400 people with a wide range of different impairments.

Â"Arrows has been created for primary schools to introduce young people to archery in a fun and safe way and is an ideal mechanism for new people of various ages to try the sport. At the Festival we received a lot of enquiries about archery and the Arrows kits which were developed in association with Clickers Archery. We are delighted to have Clickers Archery as an official partner of the Archery GB Ambassador and Mentor programme.”

There are different sized Arrows kits available ranging from one to a ten-bow pack and they include everything you need from the bows and arrows to targets, guides for teachers and activity cards.
