Archery GB publishes COVID-19 FAQs

March 19th 2020
Sarah Booth

Understandably we have received a large number of questions regarding our position in relation to COVID-19, but we urge you to please follow our guidance so we can play our part in the fight against coronavirus, and hopefully we can all get back to shooting shortly.

We cannot emphasise strongly enough that due to the global pandemic we are facing, our advice is for all archery activity in the UK to be postponed to stop all non essential contact for the foreseeable future. This decision is based on government advice and not on the advice of our insurers. This evening, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the tide can be turned in the coronavirus fight within the next 12 weeks as he updated the public on the timetable for restrictions, he said:

“I’m conscious as the days have gone by that people will want to know how long we’re expecting them to keep it up,” he told his daily press conference in No 10.

“I think, looking at it all, that we can turn the tide within the next 12 weeks and I’m absolutely confident that we can send coronavirus packing in this country.

“But only if we all take the steps that we’ve outlined, that is vital, that’s how we’re going to reduce the peak and once we’ve achieved that and I think that we will, if we take the steps I’ve said, then the scientific progress that we’ve been making will really start coming into play.”

Understandably we have received a large number of questions regarding our position in relation to COVID-19. We appreciate that many of you are facing your own challenges following the new restrictions, which will inevitably have financial implications across our sport, as well as implications for your personal and family life. Please be assured that we are aware of this and while we don’t have all the answers, we will continue to add to the list of FAQ’s over the coming days and weeks.

We appreciate that we haven’t been able to answer every question yet, we are working our way through them and will update the FAQ’s regularly. In particular, the outstanding questions regarding tournaments, which we are working on with our partners and tournament organisers to provide the answers as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions please email them to or call the team on 01952 677888 Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm.

Please treat our staff with the courtesy and respect they deserve, we will not tolerate abuse or bad language. Our team are working long hours to try and provide the latest and best advice, while balancing the impact of coronavirus on their own lives, please be kind and respectful.

The full FAQ’s can be downloaded below.

Thank you for your continued support.
