Archery GB Job Vacancy – Range Assessor
October 28th 2019
Sophie Meering
Archery GB is currently seeking to appoint regional Range Assessors, to ensure our archery facilities remain safe and maintained.
Job Title – Range Assessor
Remuneration – Contract
Location – Homebased
Hours – Ad-hoc/part-time
Following the introduction of range registration and assessment in 2017, over 2500 ranges have been compiled. Part of the process involves site visits to archery ranges that cannot self-certify against the Rules of Shooting and therefore require a ‘dispensation’.
We require a network of range assessors to perform this function. There may also be opportunities to support the set-up of new ranges as we progress working in different areas of the country, and this may be the formation of new clubs or supporting new venues for archery.
The role involves travelling to locations and assessing a range to ensure it meets the Rules of Shooting, health and safety criteria and functional performance criteria. Site visits are arranged on an ad-hoc basis by agreement between a club and an assessor. Training is provided to support you in this role.
As a range assessor, your services will be required on an ad hoc basis and a set payment of £35 plus travelling expenses will be paid for each range you assess.
If you are interested in applying for the role, please send your CV which is written specifically to show how you meet the criteria of the Person Specification and relevant experience or qualifications, and letter of application to range@archerygb.org before the closing date shown below.
Further details of the role and requirements can be found by downloading the Job Description below.

Closing date for applications: Saturday 30 November 2019
