Sixty minutes. That's how long it took for 50 per cent of entries for the 2016 Junior National Outdoor Championships to be snapped up yesterday. But if you did not manage to get a place, don't worry. All is not lost.
Entries for the remaining 50 per cent of entries will open at 8pm on Monday 29 February. And the good news is that if you do not manage to bag one of those places you could still be part of the event.
Why? Because these places are for the main field at Lilleshall - and this year the JNOC is growing!
Every year, demand outstrips the number of places available so, for 2016, Archery GB has booked the neighbouring football fields and will set up as many targets as needed.
The plan is to put in a second line of targets for shorter rounds on the football fields and shoot towards the golf course. If those places fill up too, a waiting list will come into operation as organisers consolidate the entries to see what else they can fit in.
National Tournaments Chairman Tim Pratt said: "To make sure this is a success, we need as many juniors as possible to enter. Speak to your friends. Club officials rally your juniors. We want this to be a memorable and fun occasion."
