The second Fazaa International Archery Competition in Dubai has ended on a high note with silver medals for Nathan MacQueen and Jess Stretton and a bronze for John Walker.
And there were a couple of agonisingly close calls too, with both Tania Nadarajah and Jodie Grinham missing out on bronze medals in shoot-offs.
Nathan took compound open silver after an incredibly tough match against second seed Eric Pereira of France while Jess was up against the highly experienced Czech, David Drahoninsky. Both Jess and David set new W1 world records during the qualification rounds.
Number two recurve seed Tania took on the number four, Brigitte Duboc, in their bronze medal final. They tied, forcing the shoot-off and, while Tania hit a solid nine, the Frenchwoman's arrow edged into the 10.
Jodie suffered a similar fate in the compound women's bronze match. She tied with Somayeh Abbaspour on 136 but the Iranian won the shoot-off.
