There has been a blistering start by UK archers at the European Field Championships in Poland today.
Thirty-two were up against more than 200 archers from 20 countries in the unmarked distances qualification round.
There were some stunning performances in the recurve categories. Alan Wills tops the senior men's leader board with Jonathan Shales second and Mark Nesbitt fifth. Amy Oliver is currently ranked third, with Naomi Folkard sixth and Lisa Cooper in ninth spot.
And the juniors did just as well. Patrick Huston, Conor Hall and Joe Fairburn finished in second third and fourth spots with Bryony Pitman second in her competition.
Duncan Busby leads the compound senior men in second place with Tapani Kalmaru fifth and Chris White eighth. Tracey Hill is the top woman at the moment in seventh spot with Lucy Holderness 10th and Victoria Barby 13th.
Junior Daisy Clark tops her leader board with Rebecca Lennon second and Morgan Russell-Cowan fourth. In the men's competition, Dean Hamilton is currently fifth and Jamie Cole is seventh, one ahead of Phillip Tucknott.
In the barebow competition, Jason Meehan and James Annall finished 14th and 15th and teammate Robert Mallon finished 21st. Victoria Williams qualified fifth, Joanne Walker 11th and Elizabeth Rees 15th.
Junior Craig McCreery is currently ranked third while Jessica Nilsson is second, Sophie Benton fourth and Freja Nilsson fifth.
The second qualifier is over marked distances and will be held tomorrow. Then the action switches to Lancut for the head to heads. The teams will be in action on Friday and the individual medals will be decided on Saturday.
