Archery GB Performance Director, Sara Symington said: "Archery GB and Help For Heroes are joining forces to 'springboard' the World Class Paralympic Programme into the Tokyo cycle with a targeted talent initiative. As a confirmed 2020 Paralympic sport, Archery GB has already demonstrated a strong track record of accelerating the development of athletes with Paralympic potential and, with the support of Help For Heroes, we hope to unearth the next tranche of precocious talent for Tokyo and beyond."
Target Tokyo is a three-stage talent identification process. It starts with two-day camps where everyone who attends will receive elite coaching, classification and guidance on their next steps. They will be held on:
- 24-24 May: Tedworth House Wiltshire
- 13-14 June: Colchester Recovery Centre, Essex
- 1-2 August: Plymouth Recovery Centre, Devon
- 4-5 August: Catterick Recovery Centre, Yorkshire.
Stage three will be a training and education camp at Archery GB's headquarters at Lilleshall with the Paralympic squad plus forward planning.
So are you up for it? If you are, the next step is easy - all you need to do is register your interest with Jayne.Kavanagh@paralympics.org.uk by 3 April 2015. Good luck
