Archery is becoming increasingly popular and more opportunities are opening up for the sport. The challenge now is to maximise those opportunities so we can continue to grow archery through sustainable investment and robust decision making.
So to help you make an informed decision, please visit www.archerygb.org/governance. As well as full details of all the proposed changes to the Board and the proposed amendments to the Articles of Association, you will find all the information presented during the second round of Governance Roadshow meetings, the answers to frequently asked questions and all the documentation from throughout the process.
There is an outline of how archery's growing success is bringing greater challenges and how the proposed changes will help the sport meet them. It also includes a video message from Jennie Price, Chief Executive of Sport England, explaining the importance of good governance in sports that receive public funding and the benefits that the inclusion of a small proportion of independent Directors on the Board can bring.
She said: "This isn't about packing your board with people who know nothing about archery. This is a small component of independent thought and those governing bodies that have done this have found it incredibly useful... that a different perspective has actually been a huge benefit to their sport."
The full proposals to the Articles of Association have been published in the AGM Information Booklet which can now be downloaded here: http://www.archerygb.org/5266.php
