Gabrielle first tried archery during a school trip and, after a friend joined the club, she convinced her dad that they should do a beginners' course.
Richard was impressed by archery as a whole and the friendliness of members at the rapidly growing club. Its juniors' section has almost doubled to 69 in the past two years and there are 119 senior members.
The plaque and cheque were presented by Development Manager (Participation). He said: "Cleve is an ontarget club and has just been classified as a Community specialist club. It holds monthly have-a-gos which are proving very popular and there were 18 people on its latest beginners' course. It is also taking part in the Big Weekend on 25 August."
Archery GB Chairman Dave Harrison said: "I would like to welcome Gabrielle, Richard and all our new members to the archery family. 40,000. It's a heck of a milestone. But it just proves how popular archery is becoming in Britain and we look forward to welcoming many more to our super sport in the future."
