The University of Nottingham also topped the podium in the novice team event. Second place went to the other Nottingham university; Nottingham Trent University, followed by Napier University in third.
George Harding, a final year student from the University of Nottingham, won the gents recurve for the fifth time. Kirstie Smith from the University of Oxford won the ladies recurve, adding to her Indoor Championship gold earlier in the year.
Although the weather conditions were windy and wet, seven new university records were set. The event also saw a Head to Head competition for the first time. Naomi Jones and Hope Greenwood, both from the University of Edinburgh, beat all gents and ladies to take the two top positions (gents and ladies were included in the compound and barebow/longbow divisions to ensure enough numbers).
A very successful weekend of competition from 34 universities saw 20 FITA Stars, 32 FITA target awards, and one Six Gold End claimed.
