Valley Bowmen, which is this year celebrating its 50th anniversary, will spend the money on an anti-vandal welfare unit containing a disabled toilet, changing and meeting rooms while the Bowmen of Pendle & Samlesbury will extend its clubhouse to create an indoor shooting range and a garage to store maintenance equipment.
P&S Chairman Norman Suchorzewski said: 'We are delighted. This will ensure we can provide all-year training for our members and also be able to invite community groups to experience our wonderful sport, even when it is pouring with rain or freezing cold."
Paul McGuire, Valley Bowmen's Club Secretary, said: "All that is left to do now is to secure planning permission for the new facilities on the range, although with changing rooms on sports grounds now being a priority and with the level of support we have from within our local community we are very hopeful that this will be granted soon."
Arran Coggan, Archery GB's National Club Development Co-ordinator, said: "I am delighted that the clubs have secured this investment from Sport England". And Richard Lewis, chairman of Sport England, said: "This National Lottery investment is helping us deliver a lasting sporting legacy from last year's successful Olympic and Paralympic Games. With so many clubs having benefited from this fund already and building on the success of last summer, this is the legacy people want for their local community."
There are a further two rounds of funding still to go, so clubs can still benefit. Bids will be accepted for the fourth round of Inspired Facilities funding from 4 March. You can find out more at: www.sportengland.org/inspiredfacilities
