David Sherratt, Chief Executive of Archery GB commented: "I am pleased that UK Sport, Sport England and Archery GB continue to work together and crucial areas such as our development programmes have received additional funding. There is no doubt in my mind that we have built a partnership of trust with our major public funders, but we must recognise that we are on a ten year journey to building an infrastructure that can deliver success at 2016 and beyond.
"In particular, our regional academy initiative which we piloted during 2012 has received great feedback, along with significant funding that will allow us to expand the work we have been doing with young people and coaches. We believe that the work in this area, is key to building future success and we are delighted to have gained funding to support this.
"Over the last nine months, we have been preparing funding bids, in conjunction with our partners, now the real work begins in refining these against the actual funding received and translating it into deliverable plans. The motto of UK Sport is 'no compromise' and we will be using the same attitude in the delivery of our strategy. We look forward to making archery's contribution to the medal total at Rio and beyond. We would like to thank UK Sport and Sport England for their continued support of Archery GB."
