The first of those new venues is Oxford, where Stage One is hosted over two days on May 12/13. Stage Two is at Lilleshall, the home of Archery GB, and will be another two day shoot, on 30 June/ 1 July.
Stages Three and Four take place at another new AGB National Series venue - Clophill, in Bedfordshire. This will take place over the weekend of 14/15 July, and both days will be a Head-2-Head.
The Grand Final - on the last Sunday in August - will again comprise of four archers from each section: compound men and women, and recurve men and women. The top four will be made up of the archers with the best results from two shoots. If tied it will be decided on the number of x's and 10s in the 70/50 metre round, and if there is still a tie, the outcome will be based on the best two overall 50/70 metre rounds.
Said organiser Jon Nott: "For obvious reasons, it is impossible to put on five National Series shoots in 2012, and a Grand Final. But we have two new exciting venues, who will make all the archers very welcome, and although we are awaiting final confirmation, we have another new venue for the Grand Final.
"The National Series has established itself as a highlight on the domestic calender, not just for the competition, but for the wonderful cameraderie and atmosphere that has become a big part of these shoots.
"Many of us who usually organise the National Series shoots will be side-tracked by our committment to working at Lords for the Olympic archery tournament, but we will be making sure that 2012 is another great tournament, and plans are already afoot for a great series the following year."
