Paying tribute, Paralympian John Cavanagh said: "David's passing is great loss for us all, having been a good friend for many years as an archer, Team Manager for the GB Paralympic Archery team, Secretary for the British Wheelchair Archery Association and organiser of the successful International Tournaments at Stoke Mandeville, to name but a few of the roles he played in disability sport."
Tim Hazell, Archery GB's Paralympic Head Coach added his tribute.
He said: "David was in effect my predecessor and it would be remiss of me to not recognise all that he did for Para Archery and Para Sport through the years.
"His work with BWAA at Stoke originally brought in - and still does - many of the past Para archery squad members and will hopefully continue to provide many more for years to come.
"The Stoke GP/Stoke Invitational event that has grown from a small event into a full blown World Ranking event is testament to David's love and drive for all things Para within the UK and Worldwide. An archer and Team Manager, he understood the needs and requirements for someone to succeed within this sporting landscape.
"Through conversation, I know he was proud of the GB archers, not only when he was involved with the squad, but also the new guys in todays present squad.
"David will be missed by all. My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time."
