Target Archery National Ranking

The Rankings for the year will be produced for four bowstyles – Compound, Recurve, Longbow and Barebow, for both ladies and gentlemen

Compound Archers

Shoot Requirement.  An archer must complete the following three elements:

Two – ladies/gents WA 1440 rounds appropriate to gender, with World Record Status (WRS) (commonly called WA Stars) or with UK Record Status (UKRS).

Three – WA 50m rounds with WRS or UKRS. These can include 50m qualification rounds shot leading to Compound Match rounds.

One – Individual Compound Match round with a WRS or UKRS.

Calculations: The scores from each archer’s best 2 ladies/gents WA 1440 rounds, their 3 best WA  50m rounds and their best 15-arrow match within an Individual Compound Match round will be added to give their total points.

Recurve Archers

Shoot Requirement.  An archer must complete the following three elements:

Two – ladies/gents WA 1440 rounds appropriate to gender, with World Record Status (WRS) (commonly called WA Stars) or with UK Record Status (UKRS).

Three  – WA 70m rounds with WRS or UKRS. These can include 70m qualification rounds leading to WA Olympic rounds.

One – Individual Olympic round associated with a WRS or UKRS WA 70m qualification round.

Calculations: The scores from each archer’s best 2 ladies/gents WA 1440 rounds and from their 3 best WA 70m rounds will be added to give their total points. Recurve archers are required to complete an Individual Olympic round although the scores cannot be used.

Longbow and Barebow Archers

Shoot Requirement.  An archer must complete the following two elements:

Two – ladies/gents WA 1440 rounds appropriate to gender, with World Record Status (WRS) (commonly called WA Stars) or with UK Record Status (UKRS).

Three – WA 70m rounds with WRS or UKRS. These can include 70m qualification rounds leading to WA Olympic rounds.

Calculations: The scores from each archer’s best 2 ladies/gents WA 1440 rounds and from their 3 best WA 70m rounds will be added to give their total points.

Note:  There is no requirement for Longbow and Barebow to complete an Individual Olympic round.

Time Limits.

All elements must be completed during the period 1 January to 30 September inclusive.

Juniors.

Junior archers are welcome to compete on an equal footing with other archers. This is in addition to competing in the separate junior rankings.

Shoots.

The coordinator will endeavor to collect scores from shoots held in the UK with UKRS or WRS, and scores by members of official GBR teams at events abroad.

Archers who attend WRS tournaments abroad (not as part of a GBR team) and who wish the results to be considered for the Rankings are to arrange for electronic copies of the results to be forwarded to the coordinator.  Alternatively, the coordinator can be directed to an authoritative web site showing the results.  Information should be sent soon after the event and in any case, must be received by 6 October 2017

Notification.

To prevent accidental omissions archers are invited to submit their best scores to the coordinator. Archers should simply list their membership number, name, club, gender, bowstyle and the details of the shoots: round, date, place and score.  This information should be sent by e-mail to:

Rankings Coordinator for the Target Committee.
