Dave HarrisonI came into our sport in 1970, shooting at my then place of work. In 1975 I was asked to run a few Have a Go nights at my local youth club in Walker which resulted in me setting up an archery section. I never thought it would last and sadly the youth club did not survive, but here I am in 2010 still with a very active & thriving club, The Bowmen of Walker, and have remained their club secretary to this day. I have shot every year since, rising almost but not quite to MB as every year I hit the score someone moved the line and added a few more points! In 1982 I became CCO and held the post for 6 years, progressing from instructor to county coach. I have been PRO and chairman for Durham and Northumberland Archery Association and am currently the County JLO. I was the regional secretary for the Northern Counties AS for 7 years from 1999, have served as a National Council member and was elected to National Target Committee. I also hold the position of National Judge, and judging is my main activity, outside shooting these days. email: chairman@archerygb.org This is a non-employed post where reasonable expenses are met. Expected time commitment is 50-100 days per annum and will include attendance at Board Meetings and the AGM, and events to represent the Society. Role Requirements

Michael WardI started archery at the University of York as a time filler in 1997, and finally transferred to a local club a few years ago. The bug has bit hard and I now seem to spend most of my time doing something related to archery. I have shot most bowstyles but not to any great distinction, and have tried most disciplines. I became a Leader in 2000, and ran the club training program for a number of years, becoming a Coach in 2006 and a County Coach in 2008. I am currently a member of Selby Archery Club, where I help out with all club activities. I've been involved in committees at Club, County and Regional levels for most of my time in Archery and have started and run a league for University clubs in the North of England since 2002. Professionally I am a Programme Manager for a government funded software research institute, and a Software Engineer responsible for designing, testing and reviewing safety related software. email: director.england@archerygb.org This is a non-employed post where reasonable expenses are met. Ian McGibbonI have been shooting since 1990, and in that time have competed for Club and County, including during my university career. I have also shot for Home Nations teams - both for Scotland and more recently for Northern Ireland. While I have shot on Home Nations teams in a number of our domestic events, the highlight of my shooting career - so far - has been shooting at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. I'm currently ranked 25th in the UK. Apart from my shooting, I have also contributed to our sport over the years - I qualified as a coach in 2001, and have served on various committees, at university, Club and Regional/Home Nation level. I have also organised tournaments in various parts of the UK (including working on the unique university team hit-miss head-to-head event). In my professional life, I work in the Legal department of a large multi-national company. Having previously worked for one of the largest law firms in London, I have worked on a wide variety of commercial projects, for IT, financial services and manufacturing businesses, both in the regulated sector and otherwise. email: director.northernireland@archerygb.org This is a non-employed post where reasonable expenses are met. Muriel KirkwoodI have been a member of Archery GB since 1986, becoming my Club's secretary in 1988 and qualifying as a Coach in 1989 to help build up my Club. Since those early days I've have held various positions at Club and County level and been involved whether helping at squads, keeping the books, sourcing trophies, selecting teams or banging in pegs and sewing flags. Over all these years I've enjoyed the hospitality of many Clubs throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland whether competing and visiting, and met many archers from all corners at the Euro-Nations tournaments. I've shot for Scotland most years since 1995 firstly in Recurve and latterly in Compound and was privileged to be on the Scottish Team at the Commonwealth Cup in India in 2006 and help bring home a team medal. Professionally I'm a data analyst with a government funded statistics group and am also responsible for my organisation's website which led to me becoming involved in developing a website for Scottish Archery in 2001 and I still enjoy keeping the site updated today. email: director.scotland@archerygb.org This is a non-employed post where reasonable expenses are met. Trish LovellI have been a member of GNAS/Archery GB since 1971 when I joined my works' club. Fairly soon after that my husband Derrick joined and we went from being club archers to getting roped into attending tournaments, becoming Instructors, County Coaches, and for myself eventually a Senior Coach, but generally getting involved in various jobs at the club, Treasurer, Secretary, Records Officer, Chairman, ordinary members. We eventually became involved in County committees with Derrick going on to Regional and National committees. After many years through Derrick's judging I was introduced to Field archery and luckily was observed by Jack Secombes (then Team Manager) and persuaded to take things a bit more seriously this finally resulted in me be becoming a World Champion twice, a European Champion once and I also had some luck at the World Games, which is Field Archery's equivalent of the Olympics. Throughout this time, apart from a few years off when we started our family I have worked full-time. I trained as a Biomedical Scientist at Guys in the late 60's and have worked in both Industry and the National Health Service where I still am. Archery generally but mostly Target and Field has played a bit part in my life for many years, both as a competitor and a coach and I hope that in my new post as President of the Society I can continue to contribute to its growth and development. email: president@archerygb.org The President will:

Mike BrightonI discovered archery quite by accident in 1985 at the age of 34 - until then I was not aware of its existence as a competitive sport. I had long been interested in early and mediæval history and fancied the idea of shooting a longbow - however I soon came to enjoy the recurve bow, which I shoot almost exclusively. Progress was slow and steady until I qualified as Master Bowman in target archery first in 1991 and became a regular member of the county team. The following year I decided to try field archery more seriously and gained my MB at my first ever tournament abroad, then GMB in 1994. Over the next 12 years I competed regularly in both target and field tournaments throughout the UK and in northern Europe and especially in the European 5 Nations championship, ultimately gaining a 3rd place FITA Field Archery World Ranking in 2006. Meanwhile I qualified as a Coach in 1995 and subsequently served as chairman of the county coaching group for several years, attended the National Coaching Conference on a number of occasions and the 2009 FITA Coaching Conference in Rome. Due to a combination of circumstances (including a shoulder injury, not related to archery) I had to greatly reduce my shooting in 2007; but then along came the FITA World Cup event at Dover, where I worked with the field party - the week was a superb experience that really opened my eyes to what archery is capable of being. Since then I have concentrated on working for the county association as its President, in a development role and in building and maintaining its web site. Archery has given me the opportunity to achieve far more than I could have realistically expected, after taking it up at such a "mature" age, and has enabled me to meet people and make friends from all over the world and to shoot/work with some extraordinary people; my only regret is that I did not discover its existence a good deal earlier, but on the positive side, the public profile of archery has increased greatly since 1985! email: vice.president@archerygb.org The Vice-President will
