A packed weekend programme saw delegates from across the country assemble at Lilleshall for the annual national archery development conference.
Throughout the weekend delegates were exploring the possibility of an Olympic effect for archery and then considering possible responses to it. In order to help them in this process, the opening session saw presentations by Rochdale Company of Archers Chairman Bryan Woodcock, who presented his thoughts on possible growth for the sport. That was followed by a presentation from Development Manager Brendon Pyle from the Golf Foundation who outlined the work they have been doing over the last few years.
Spaced throughout the day delegates were able to attend a variety of workshops, ranging from new funding opportunities, to competition ideas and working with non archers.
It wasn't all work, work, work though. The Saturday evening gave delegates a chance to shoot at the Lilleshall performance unit and the evening was capped off by the inaugural ontarget club development programme awards. Winning the club of the year award was the Bowmen of Pendle and Samlesbury.
