After a fourth placed finish at a prestigious indoor event in Nimes, France, last month, Naomi (pictured) heads off to the USA in a confident mood. She said: "I was delighted with the way things went at the Nimes event, against top class opposition, many of whom I'll be competing against next week.
"Hopefully I can carry that on in Vegas, and continue to gain the momentum ahead of the Olympic selection shoots in April."
Team manager Jon Nott says he is confident there will be British archers among the medals during next week's championships. He said: "We have a very experienced squad of archers heading off to Las Vegas.
"When I look through the list of names, many of whom have won medals at international competitions in the past, and are more than capable of doing so again. I can see medals throughout the eight names who will be representing Britain."
Another archer in great form in Nimes was the world number one recurver Brady Ellison, who is looking to win the first-ever individual recurve men's gold at a World Indoor Championship. At Nimes, he shot a near-perfect 597/600, setting a new US record and equalling the current world record.
Ellison will be part of a US team that seeks to defend the seven gold medals won at the last World Indoors, two years ago - though 300 other archers, including the GB contingent, will be looking to stop them.
The tournament opens on Sunday, with official practice, with competition getting underway a day later with a 60-arrow qualification round.
Along with Ellison, the Italians Michele Frangilli, Marco Galiazzo, and Natalia Valeeva, and the reigning Olympic champion Viktor Ruban are among the recurvers lining up in Las Vegas. The rivals in chief to the GB compounders include Martin Damsbo of Denmark, the USA's Reo Wilde and Braden Gellenthien, Russia's Albina Loginova, and the Italian Marcella Tonioli, who was beaten by Dani Brown in the gold medal match in Nimes.
The archery extravaganza in Las Vegas is not confined to the World Indoor Championships - the three-day NFAA World Archery Festival gets underway on 10 February, when 1,800 competitors are expected.
