Personal Performance Course
Running every year since 1950 the aim of the course is to provide coaching to those who aspire to improve and compete at higher levels. In fact, many past candidates have gone on to shoot for County and Country.
Residential courses are held every year depending upon demand, with a maximum of twenty two candidates per course, the course does however require a minimum number (viability decisions are made 12 weeks prior to the start date). Recurve, Compound and Longbow are all covered in depth; with emphasis on shooting form, using video analysis for feedback to the archer.
Equipment set-up, elite training programmes, tuning, mental training, exercise and nutrition are just some of the subjects covered in depth and courses are continually up-dated to stay in line with the latest ideas from Korea, USA and the rest of the world!
Each archer will gain insight into a training a method undertaken by elite archers, but at all times training is tailored to the individual and care is taken to address their particular needs.
The three day courses are open to any Archery GB member who has been shooting regularly for a minimum of six months. Under 18’s must be accompanied by another senior candidate.
Some return many times to get further coaching and enjoy the camaraderie of the group, often making new friendships along the way.
No-one is abandoned at the end of a course, Dave Redding and his team of Sue and Keith Hawkesford, Tony Luff and Peter Minshaw, are happy to provide follow on coaching to all candidates!
Residential course held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Newport, Shropshire – accommodation, meals, course and facilities all included in the price.
