We want to increase the opportunities for college students to take part in archery.
The development of new satellite clubs on college sites has been a focus for Archery within the Development Plan 2013-17.
Briefly, the Further Education (FE) programme has included:;
– The formation of 10 new satellite clubs on FE sites
– An incentive funding scheme for existing college clubs to apply for if they could demonstrate how they can increase the number of regular archers
Throughout the programme Archery GB has worked alongside clubs, colleges, Sport England and County Sport Partnerships.
What is a satellite club?
We hope that colleges feel able to provide archery activity to students in a way that will enable them to continue beyond college life. The satellite club model will enable students to be introduced to archery at college, with easy access to local community club activity so they can stay within the sport.
