Archery Big Weekend
Archery Big Weekend 16-18 June 2017
The Archery Big Weekend is a national event taking place 16-18 June and clubs and organisations are invited to open their doors, and welcome members of the public to come along with friends and family and give archery a go.
The event is now in its sixth year and last year, more groups than ever (over 90) signed up to take part! With the added bonus of being part of a national initiative, and a full online kitbag of resources to help you run your events, the event has continued to grow in popularity with both clubs and the general public.
Last year each club that submitted feedback after their events were held, were entered into a prize draw. The winning clubs won £75.00 worth of Clickers Archery store vouchers to spend on equipment for their clubs.
The application process for clubs and organisations will open shortly, but in the meantime you may want to 'save the date' in your archery calendars and start to begin planning your event. The Archery Big Weekend is the perfect opportunity to celebrate your club, enhance your local profile and attract new members.
Some of the feedback from clubs...
"Our club is quite hidden from view, however, people had come specifically to take part after seeing adverts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and events listing websites. We're really pleased!" Aire Valley Archers, Bradford
"It was great to see so many people come and have a go at archery. We had a great time sharing our passion for archery and hope that we might have inspired someone to get involved in archery in the future." Brixham Archers
"We had about 25 parents and young people turning up on the day and 8 off them returned on Monday to start a beginners course. As a new club this was a great response" Irvine Toxopholites, Ayshire
"Some of the most rewarding moments were seeing participants face light up when they were able to pop the balloon placed centre gold. We went through a lot of balloons as the coaches were very good at helping participants" Bitton Archers, Bristol
